Noise may not be your first concern when looking at wind turbines, but for neighbors, it is tormenting. Dave Pevec, who lives more than a quarter-mile from the Waymart wind power plant in rural Pennsylvania, complains that the noise keeps him awake at night.

These relatively small towers (~150 feet) in the UK fell in a storm. What assurance does Lyman have that any towers will be safe, reliable, and funds escrowed to remove them should they be abandoned?

...They are a flotsom of a boom-and-bust industry, left behind by the companies that may have changed hands or gone bankrupt. Some ranchers who allowed "wind farms" on their spreads now find that getting rid the windmills can be a long and costly process.
